Intel made a big announcement on Monday.
Officially introducing its This line-up is led by the flagship Intel Core i9-14900K, followed by the Intel Core i7-14700K, and the Intel Core i5-14600K.
Roger Chandler, the Vice President and General Manager of Enthusiast PC and Workstation in the Client Computing Group, expressed the company’s commitment to elevating desktop performance through the performance hybrid architecture. He emphasized that the Intel Core 14th Generation processors, available in both K and KF models, continue to deliver an outstanding desktop experience.
The Intel Core i9-14900K/KF, the top-tier processor in this generation, boasts impressive specifications, including up to 24 cores and 32 threads, with a frequency of up to 6GHz and a substantial 36MB of L3 cache.
In comparison, the Intel Core i7-14700K/KF offers 20 cores and 28 threads, incorporating four efficient cores (E-cores) compared to the previous generation. It features 33MB of L3 cache and a maximum speed of 5.6GHz.
Leading the Core i5 models are the Core i5-14600K and Core i5-14600KF, equipped with 14 cores and 20 threads. These models include a 24MB cache with a maximum clock speed of up to 5.3GHz.

Chandler highlighted the gaming performance of Intel Core 14th Gen processors, claiming a 23% uplift compared to leading competitor processors. New gaming-focused features, such as Intel Application Optimization (APO), contribute to improved application threading alongside existing Intel Thread Director application thread scheduling.
The processors come with Intel’s Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU) AI Assist feature, allowing for one-click AI-guided overclocking on specific Intel Core 14th gen unlocked SKUs.
Other notable features include support for DDR5 XMP speeds exceeding 8,000 mega transfers per second (MT/S), integrated support for Wi-Fi 6/6E and Bluetooth 5.3, and future compatibility for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. The CPUs also support Thunderbolt 4 and the upcoming Thunderbolt 5 wired connectivity, promising up to 80 Gbps of bi-directional bandwidth.
The new CPUs are compatible with Intel 600 and 700 series motherboards, facilitating easy upgrades for enthusiasts seeking the latest gaming and creator performance.
Starting from October 17, 2023, Intel Core 14th Gen desktop processors will be available through retail outlets and OEM partner systems. The Intel Core i9-14900K, Core i7-14700K, and Core i5-14600K are priced at $589, $409, and $319, respectively. The graphic cardless versions, Intel Core i9-14900K, Core i7-14700K, and Core i5-14600K, can be purchased for $564, $384, and $294, respectively.
